REPORTING SENIOR:
Director of Public Safety Division
JOB OBJECTIVES: To
serve as duty officer at the Greeneville/Greene County Center for
Higher Education, Regional Law Enforcement Academy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Enforce college regulations.
- Conduct regular equipment, facility
and fire safety checks.
- Serve as duty officer for the
Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy.
- Maintain an effective mode of
communication at all times.
- Type communications relative to the
Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy.
- Perform general office work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB STANDARDS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
from a standard high school.
- Knowledge of campus policies.
- Knowledge of city, county and state
laws.
- Must be able to work a varying
schedule, Monday through Friday. Knowledge of procedures relative
to the criminal justice system.
JOB LOCATION:
The college’s Greeneville/Greene County Center for Higher Education.
EQUIPMENT:
Use of standard office
equipment is required.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:
Competence in the use of required equipment and the ability to
communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective
interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, other employees
and the general public.
SALARY:
Negotiable, according to the salary guide of the college and
individual qualifications.

SECURITY OFFICER
Should meet or exceed the requirements
of the Minimum Standards Law (TCA 38-8-106).
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a citizen of the United States.
Be a high school graduate or possess
equivalency.
Not have been convicted or pleaded
guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or
to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances
relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or
controlled substances and not have been released or discharged under
any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the
United States.
Have his (or her) fingerprints on file
with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
*Have passed a physical examination by
a licensed physician.
Have a good moral character as
determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the employing
agency.
*Be free of all apparent mental
disorders as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders, 3rd edition (DSM-11) of the American Psychiatric
Association. Applicants must be certified as meeting these criteria by
a qualified professional in the psychiatric or psychological fields.
Possession of a valid Tennessee
Operator license as issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety.
