Mathematics Divisional Award Structure
The College will provide three cash awards totaling $180 to mathematics and
pre-engineering students who score well on the MAPP Test. To be
eligible for these awards a student must score at or above the average score for
all Walters State students.
- The student with the highest eligible test score will
receive a cash award of $100. Two other students randomly selected from all
students with eligible scores will receive cash awards of $40 each.
- If two students tie for the highest eligible score,
each will receive a cash award of $70. A $40 award will be given to one
student randomly selected from all students with eligible scores
- If three students tie for the highest eligible score,
each will receive a cash award of $60.
In addition to the test score awards, a student randomly
selected from all math and pre-engineering students who complete the online
MAPP review session, or meet with Dr. John LaPrise for a review,
will receive a cash award of $20.
Award recipients will be notified by mail after the
MAPP testing is complete for the academic year.
