The College will provide three cash awards totaling $180 to mathematics and pre-engineering students who score well on the MAPP Test.  To be eligible for these awards a student must score at or above the average score for all Walters State students.

  • The student with the highest eligible test score will receive a cash award of $100.  Two other students randomly selected from all students with eligible scores will receive cash awards of $40 each.
  • If two students tie for the highest eligible score, each will receive a cash award of $70.  A $40 award will be given to one student randomly selected from all students with eligible scores
  • If three students tie for the highest eligible score, each will receive a cash award of $60.

In addition to the test score awards, a student randomly selected from all math and pre-engineering students who complete the online MAPP review session, or meet with Dr. John LaPrise for a review, will receive a cash award of $20.

Award recipients will be notified by mail after the MAPP testing is complete for the academic year.
