Baseball Belts Bucks, 20-10
TULLAHOMA, Tennessee — Another big day at the plate for the No. 3 Walters State baseball team resulted in another lopsided victory.
The Senators slugged six more homers, giving them 17 for the weekend and 127 for the season, en route to a 20-10 win Saturday over TJCCAA rival Motlow State.
With the victory, Walters State pushed its record to 43-6 overall, 22-3 in the conference while the Bucks dropped to 11-30, 5-17.
Freshman outfielder Will Skinner became the sixth Senator to reach double figures in homers as he belted a pair Saturday, giving him 10 on the season. Skinner also had a double, scored three runs and drove in three.
Kyle Koeneman added to his big weekend, hitting his fourth homer in three games and 22nd of the season. In his last 19 games, the former All-State standout from Seymour has swatted 17 round-trippers.
Sophomore Adam Stooksberry homered, doubled and singled, driving in five runs while freshman Brandon Chastain singled twice and homered.
Soophomore Nick Langley singled three times while fellow freshman Dylan Pratt homered.
Sophomore Coty Woods (6-1) tossed 4 1/3 innings in relief of starter Nick Fuller to earn the pitching decision.
