Koeneman Lifts Senators Past Milligan
ELIZABETHTON, Tennessee – Freshman slugger Kyle Koeneman continued his recent tear at the plate, belting his 10th homer in his last 12 games, as the No. 2 Walters State baseball team bopped Milligan, 14-8, Wednesday afternoon.
Koeneman, a former All-State performer at Seymour, added two singles and drove in four runs for the Senators (35-6). Fellow freshman Cody Hawn added two doubles and a single.
Sophomore outfielder Adam Milligan singled three times in the victory. Freshman Chad Hunter tripled and singled, freshman Will Skinner also had a three-bagger while sophomore Adam Stooksberry and freshman Myles Cordell each doubled.
Freshman righthander Austin Bridgewater (3-1) started the game for Walters State and worked three perfect innings with five strikeouts.
The Senators return to the diamond Friday when Columbia State comes to Morristown for a crucial three-game TJCCAA series. Scheduled start time for the single game is 2 p.m.
