Golf Team Has Tough Day On Links
GOODYEAR, Az. — The Walters State golf team experienced a rough second day of the NJCAA Division II championship at the Palm Vallet Golf Course Wednesday.
The Senators recorded a team score of 323, which was 23 strokes more than Tuesday’s first round. For the tournament, Walters State is 13th with a team score of 623,
Tyler (Tx.) leads the event with a score of 582 while Mesa (Az.) is second at 585 while Darton (Ga.) is third at 591.
The Senators’ Jeremy Cason is tied for 27th place after Wednesday’s round of 77, putting him at 151 for the first two rounds. Luke Fullen is tied for 47th with a score of 155 (74-81), Corbin Norton is tied for 73rd at 158 (76-82), Bowin Newgent is tied for 79th at 159 (77-82) while Josh Jeffers is tied for 105th at 165 (79-86).
Garrett Smith out of Muskegn is the leaders after two rounds with a score of 140 (63-77).
