Golf Team Ties For Eighth In TC Invitational

GREENEVILLE, Tennessee – The Walters State golf team tied for eighth place Sunday in the rain-shortened Tusculum Invitational at Link Hills Country Club.

 

The Senators recorded a team score of 302, along with Brevard College, in the one-day event. Shorter won the event with a score of 288, three strokes better than Tusculum and Grand Valley State.

 

Bowen Newgent carded a 74, which was the low round for Walters State. Luke Fullen and Darius Hoese each finished with a 75 while Corbin Norton came with a 76.

 

The Senators return to the links March 13-15 in a Spring Fling tournament at Goosepond Colony Golf Course in Scottsboro (Ala.).
