Senators Golf Tied For Ninth
GOODYEAR, Az. — The Walters State golf team is in a tie for ninth place after the first round of the NJCAA Division II championship at the Palm Valley Golf Course.
The Senators shot a team score of 300, which was 12-over-par. Tyler (Tx.) leads the event with a score of 275 while Mesa (Az.) is second at 287 while Arkansas-Forth Smith is third at 289.
Individual scores for the Senators included rounds of 73 from freshman Luke Fullen, 74 from Jeremy Cason, 76 from Corbin Norton, 77 from Bowin Newgent and 79 from Josh Jeffers. Only the top four scores count on the team score.
Blaine Wetterman from Tyler is the indovidual leader after carding a 62 in his opening round.
