Lady Senators Clinch Tie For Eastern Division Crown

CLEVELAND, Tennessee – The No. 17 Walters State women's basketball team clinched at least a tie for the TJCCAA Eastern Division crown Saturday with a 66-47 road win at Cleveland State.

The Lady Senators (24-4 overall, 12-2 conference) broke open a close game at the half (26-21) with a 40-27 showing in the final 20 minutes.

Sophomores Dana Garrett and Megan Rollins each had 11 points for Walters State with Garrett adding 13 rebounds for the double-double.

Kanita Holloway led the Lady Cougars (16-9, 7-7) with nine points.

The Lady Senators return to action Wednesday in their final regular season home game against Hiwassee. Scheduled start time from 'Z' Buda Gymnasium is 6 p.m.
