Taylor Tallies New Career High in Lady Senators' Home Win
MORRISTOWN, Tennessee — Freshman guard Rhon'Neisha Taylor continued her stellar play as she netted a career-high 27 points and added five assists as the No. 23 Walters State women's basketball team defeated Motlow State, 71-61, Saturday at 'Z' Buda Gymnasium.
With the win, the Lady Senators pushed their season worksheet to 20-4 overall and 8-2 in the conference. The Lady Bucks fell to 10-12 and 4-6.
Taylor was 11-of-17 from the field, including going 3-of-6 on 3-point shots, in 26 minutes of play. Sophomore forward Dana Garrett recorded her second double-double of the week, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore center Nakisha Strickland finished with 13 points.
Abby Jackson was the lone Motlow State player in double figures with 10 points.
The Lady Senators return to action Wednesday in Madisonville against TJCCAA Eastern Division rival Hiwassee. Scheduled start time is 6 p.m.
