WSCC Lady Senators Ranked In Latest Poll

MORRISTOWN, Tennessee – After convincing wins last week over Spartanburg Methodist, Volunteer State and Columbia State, the Walters State women's basketball team made a big jump in the latest NJCAA Division I poll released Wednesday.

The Lady Senators, now 17-3 on the season heading into Wednesday night's game with Cleveland State, rose four places from No. 19 to No. 15, just behind Louisburg, who handed coach Dave Kragel's team one of their three losses on the season. Southwest Tennessee, who also holds a victory over Walters State, is No. 5 with a 13-0 worksheet.

In national statistical rankings, the Lady Senators are ninth in points allowed at 52.1 per contest.

Walters State returns to action Saturday when they travel to Chattanooga to square off with the Chattanooga State Lady Tigers. Scheduled start time is 2 p.m.
