Lady Senators Finish Weekend With 3-2 Record
AIKEN, S.C. – The Walters State softball team, ranked 29th in the nation, completed their stay in the Aiken Tech tournament with a 3-2 worksheet after going 1-2 Saturday and Sunday,
The Lady Senators, in their lone game Sunday, fell to Wallace (Ala.) State, 11-1. Sophomore Lauren Mynatt had a pair of hits for Walters State while freshman hurler Brittany Hill (0-1) was tagged with the mound defeat.
In Saturday's first game, the Lady Senators posted a 3-0 win over Aiken Tech as freshman pitcher Alyssa Shoun (2-0) scattered eight hits. Mynatt had a RBI single in the win.
The second game Saturday saw the Lady Senators fall to Young Harris, 7-6. Freshman India Ellison (1-1) suffered her first loss at Walters State while Britani Fisher banged out a pair of doubles.
The Lady Senators return to action Tuesday with a road doubleheader at Montreat (N.C.) College. Scheduled start time is 2 p.m.
