Softball Falls To Lady Tigers

MORRISTOWN, Tennessee — The Walters State softball team closed out the regular season Thursday afternoon with a pair of TJCCAA losses at the Lady Senator Softball Complex against No. 2 Chattanooga State.

 

In the opener, the Lady Senators got a leadoff single from Brittany Dixon and was then held hitless the remainder of the way in a 4-0 defeat. The nightcap saw Walters State collect six hits but failed to cross the plate in a 3-0 setback.

 

With the two losses, the Lady Senators fell to 29-16 overall and 12-6 in conference action.

 

Freshman Alyssa Shoun was tagged with the mound loss in the opener. Shoun gave up four runs on 11 hits while striking out one and walking one.

 

The second game saw sophomore Lauren Mynatt net two singles in her final home game while freshman Gina Loflin doubled.

 

Freshman Brittany Hill was saddled with the loss. Hill allowed three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out two in 5 2/3 innings of work. Shoun finished the game for the Lady Senators.
