Softball Sweeps Montreat

MONTREAT, N.C. — The Lady Senators pushed their season worksheet to 5-2 with the twinbill sweep.

In the opener, winning pitcher Alyssa Shoun (3-0) allowed just two hits while helping her own cause with a homer and a double.

Gina Loflin added a double in the win for Walters State. The Senators won game one 8-1.

In game two, former Morristown East standout India Ellison (2-1) gave up one hit, a triple, in recording her second win in three decisions.

Former Morristown West performer Brittany Dixon tripled and doubled in the victory while Loflin and Shoun each doubled in the Senators 10-0 victory.

The Lady Senators return to action Friday at Louisburg (N,C.).
