HARRIMAN — Freshman Alyssa Shoun homered in both games as the Walters State softball team picked up a pair of TJCCAA wins Tuesday at Roane State.

In the opener, Shoun (13-7) also collected the mound win as the Lady Senators rolled to a 12-3 win in six innings while in the nightcap, Shoun and Lauren Mynatt each homered in a 12-2 triumph in five innings.

Walters State, with the twinbill sweep, is now 27-12 overall and 10-2 in the conference.

The first game saw freshman Britani Fisher record two singles and a double while Mynatt added a triple.

In the second game, Shoun had a pair of singles to go along with her round-tripper. Gina Loflin and Miranda Tounzen each had a double in the win.

Freshman Brittany Hill (9-3) netted the mound win for the Lady Senators.

Walters State returns to action Friday in a home TJCCAA doubleheader against Volunteer State. Scheduled start time at the Lady Senator Softball Complex is 2 p.m.
