The Associate of Arts degree in Speech at Walters
State Community College is designed to fulfill the freshman and sophomore level
course requirements of a bachelor’s degree; however, the curriculum is not
specific to a particular college or university. A student will need to consult

If you enjoy performing or communicating with other people
in small or large group settings, then you may want to consider majoring in
speech. A bachelor’s degree in speech will help you develop fundamental
performance skills, voice and body training, interpretation techniques, and the
ability to communicate with others in various environments. Dual and small
group interaction is examined through observation and explanation of verbal and
nonverbal actions, listening, emotions, relationships, and conflicts. These
skills are applicable to a great many career fields.
