Transfer Students
Students who transfer to Walters State, have less than 30
hours of course work, do not have an acceptable computer competency course, and
are in a major that does not require a specific computer course, will be
required to comply with the computer competency process as outlined at
Computer Competency Process
The following information should help transfer students
regarding computer competency at WSCC:
- Transferability of a course to meet the WSCC computer
competency is determined by the Student Records Office. Student challenges
to course transfers should be directed to Student Records for review.
- Students who transfer in more than 30 hours of college
level course work, and do not have an acceptable computer competency course,
may take the computer competency pre-test and exam, if special permission
is granted by the Dean of Technical Education. If permission is granted, a
student must complete the pre-test with a grade of 85 or higher and the
Computer Competency Exam with a grade of 80 or higher. Additional
information is available by emailing
computercompetency@ws.edu or
call 423-585-2644.
