The Smoky Mountains Area
Workforce Board will meet at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2010,
in the Foundation Room at Walters State Community College,
Morristown. The board provides policy and oversight guidance for the
Workforce Investment Act in the Smoky Mountains Workforce Area,
which includes Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock,
Hawkins, Jefferson, Sevier, and Union counties.
The Center for Workforce Development at Walters State Community
College is the administrative entity for Workforce Investment Act
services, which are funded under an agreement with the Tennessee
Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Walters State is an
