REPORTING SENIOR: Maintenance Supervisor for
Custodial Services
JOB OBJECTIVES: Work
performed in cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, supervising
other custodians as necessary, and performing related work as
required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise a crew performing custodial work or related
projects.
- Sweep, mop and buff stairs, corridors, and floors, vacuum
carpets.
- Wash windows, dust and polish furniture, and clean woodwork.
- Pick up paper and debris in buildings and on grounds.
- Empty trash receptacles and clean containers.
- Clean restroom walls, floors and fixtures, and replenish
supplies.
- Shampoo carpets, strip, wax and buff floors when needed.
- Work schedule may be adjusted when required to accommodate
special events.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB STANDARDS:
- Graduate of a standard high school or equivalent.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
- Previous institutional or facility custodial experience
preferred.
- Stable work history.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working
relationship with other employees.
- Knowledge of the material and equipment used in custodial
and minor maintenance work.
- Ability to supervise and inspect the work of subordinates.
- Possess a valid Tennessee driver's license.
- Normal working hours are 6:00am to 2:30 pm Monday through
Friday.
JOB LOCATION: The primary job location is the
Greeneville/Greene Co. Center for Higher Educations in Greeneville,
Tennessee.
EQUIPMENT: Primary assignment includes the operation of
commercial vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbing machines, high speed
buffer, general cleaning tools and supplies.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:
Ability to perform general custodial duties, floor care duties and
supervise small number of employees in an institutional environment.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, minor
plumbing, etc.
SALARY: Negotiable, according to the salary guide of the
college and individual qualifications.
