FERPA Privacy Policy

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) extends you the right to inspect and review your financial aid records. It also provides your parents the right to review those records if your parents claim you as a dependent on their federal income tax return. For your protection, FERPA limits release of information about your records without your explicit written consent.

FERPA Release Form has the following uses:

  • Have your parents certify that you are dependent according to Section 152 of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Authorize us to release information about your financial aid records to persons you designate.

When you call our office, before we will release any information, you will be asked for personal identifiers such as (student's birth date, student's SSN, address etc.). Anyone who calls on your behalf must be listed on your signed release form. They will also be asked to provide personal identifiers. If they are unable to provide the information, we will not discuss your information with them.

When you visit our office, you may be asked to provide a photo ID to confirm your identity before we can discuss your financial aid records with you.

For additional information on FERPA, visit the U.S. Department of Education website
