Course Syllabus

 

Course Description

Microsoft Office Access 2003: Quick Course 2 expands on the skills introduced in the preceding course. You will learn about Access’ more complex features and functions. You will customize forms and reports, import and export data, work with macros and command buttons, and integrate Access with other Office applications.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course you will be able to:

§   Create and format customized forms that include calculated fields, combo boxes, and subforms

§   Create and format customized reports that include calculated fields, heading groupings, and mailing labels

§   Import and export data to other Office applications and create other integrated objects like mail merges, spreadsheets, and Web pages

§   Create macros and events, assign them to command buttons, and create switchboards

Work Standards

§   Please arrive on time for each class meeting. The second class meeting will begin with a review of topics covered during the first day.

§   Please notify me if you must leave early for any class session.

§   Follow the ground rules of the course (see below).

When you work at the computer, don’t struggle with a task or instruction that is not working for more than 2 minutes before you ask for help.

§   NDQ Rule
There are no dumb questions in our classroom. All questions are welcome.

§   Interruptions are welcome

Your performance in the course is evaluated on your performance in Assessment Exercises with the following skills:

§   Forms 25%

§   Reports 25%

§   Integration with Office 25%

§   Macros and Events 25%
