Excel 2003: Level 2

Course Syllabus

Course Description

Excel 2003: Quick Course 2 goes well beyond the basics of a plain worksheet. In this course, you will manage large workbooks, explore print options, and use tools to find solutions to financial questions. You will also use Microsoft’s professionally designed templates and graphics, sort and filter data, and perform calculations using special database functions. Finally, you will use analysis tools, including PivotTables and outlines, and create worksheet consistency with styles.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course you will be able to:

§   Use financial functions and analyze data: 20%

§   Use templates and graphics: 20%

§   Work with large and multi-sheet workbooks: 20%

§   Work with databases: 20%

§   Use PivotTables, styles, and outlines: 20%

Work Standards

§   Please arrive on time for each class meeting. The second class meeting will begin with a review of topics covered during the first day.

§   Please notify me if you must leave early for any class session.

§   Follow the ground rules of the course (see below).

§   2-Minute Rule
When you work at the computer, don’t struggle with a task or instruction that is not working for more than 2 minutes before you ask for help.

§   NDQ Rule
There are no dumb questions in our classroom. All questions are welcome.

§   Interruptions are welcome

Evaluation

Your performance in the course is evaluated on your performance in Assessment Exercises.
