Outlook 2003: Quick Course 1

Course Syllabus

Course Description

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003: Quick Course 1 covers Outlook’s primary features. Lesson 1 introduces the Outlook program window and navigation. You learn how Outlook stores your data in folders and how to create your own folders. You also learn how to protect your computer from viruses. In Lesson 2 you send, receive, and respond to messages. In Lesson 3 you use Outlook’s Contacts view to manage information about people with whom you correspond. You also learn about distribution lists, which allow you to send messages to multiple addresses with a single command. Lesson 4 introduces the Calendar, which is used to create and manage appointments and all-day events. Lesson 5 covers Outlook’s task management features. You assign tasks to others and accept tasks assigned to you. This lesson also introduces the Notes feature.

Work Standards

§   Please arrive on time for each class meeting. The second class meeting will begin with a review of topics covered during the first day.

§   Please notify me if you must leave early for any class session.

When you work at the computer, don’t struggle with a task or instruction that is not working for more than 2 minutes before you ask for help.

§   NDQ Rule
There are no dumb questions in our classroom. All questions are welcome.

§   Interruptions are welcome

Evaluation

Your performance in the course is evaluated on your performance in the Skill Builder and Assessment exercises.
