Course Description

Microsoft PowerPoint 2003: Quick Course 1 covers the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint. The course begins with creating and delivering a presentation, including design templates, text layout styles, and Master slides. Using clip art, drawing objects, and animation to enhance presentations are covered. Working with delivery options, toolbar options, and editing tools are some of the more advanced skills studied toward the end of the course.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course you will be able to:

§   Create and deliver presentations: 25%

§   Work with design templates, text layout styles, and Master slide: 25%

§   Format and organize text, add and sort slides, and print presentations: 20%

§   Use clip art, drawing objects, slide transitions, and animation: 20%

§   Manage presentation tools: 10%

Work Standards

§   Please arrive on time for each class meeting. The second class meeting will begin with a review of topics covered during the first day.

§   Please notify me if you must leave early for any class session.

§   Follow the ground rules of the course (see below).

§   2-Minute Rule
When you work at the computer, don’t struggle with a task or instruction that is not working for more than 2 minutes before you ask for help.

§   NDQ Rule
There are no dumb questions in our classroom. All questions are welcome.

§   Interruptions are welcome
Feel free to raise your hand to ask a question at any time, this includes lecture presentations. 

Evaluation

Your performance in the course is evaluated on your performance in Assessment Exercises with the following skill areas:

§   Basic presentation skills: 50%

§   Intermediate presentation skills: 30%

§   Advanced presentation skills: 20%
