Nine Walters State Community College students received writing awards from Phi Theta Kappa in the Tennessee chapter’s annual writing competition. Students were also published in “Tennessee Mosaic,” a regional literary anthology. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for community college students.
Receiving first place honors were Teresa Lane of Morristown for poetry; Katrina Eccles for a one-act play; and Bree Eccles for research paper. Both are from Jefferson City.
