Ride the Rapids with the Walters State Adventurers
September 11, 2017

Join the Walters State Adventurers for a great day on the rapids!

The group will travel to Blue Heron Whitewater Rafting in Marshall, N.C., on Sept. 23. We’ll be rafting on the French Broad, which includes Class I, II and III rapids. This is a great trip for first-time rafters. Experienced paddlers will have the option of piloting solo ducky. (A ducky is an inflatable kayak.)

The cost is only $10 a person, so spots will get snatched quickly. You can sign up by emailing

The bus will depart from the Morristown Campus at 7:30 a.m. and return around 4 p.m. Bring your own lunch and snacks. Wear trunks, board shorts, bathing suits or other quick-drying clothes are recommended for the trip down the water. A change of clothes is highly recommended and will make the trip home much more comfortable.

This trip is open to all students, but space is limited. Grab a friend or come meet new friends!
