Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the office of Planning,
Research and Assessment is to effectively provide, manage and
continuously improve institution wide planning, assessment, and research
systems that address identified institutional needs. The primary
customers served by the office include the President's Office, academic
and administrative units and staff, students, state agencies, higher
education governing bodies, and accrediting agencies. The effectiveness
of the office is measured by demonstrated achievement of the college
vision, campus compact, mission, strategic plan elements, and
institutional effectiveness requirements. Staff members of this office
are fully committed to the Walters State mission and actively subscribe
to the values outlined within the campus compact.
Overview of Unit
The office of Planning, Research and
Assessment supports executive functions including institutional
planning, research, and continuous improvement of institutional
