Industrial Technology - Drafting and Design Concentration

The Drafting and Design concentration teaches students the design concepts and graphical techniques involved in the production of engineering and architectural drawings. Below are just a few job titles from recent employment advertisements that graduates of this concentration can qualify for:

Drafting and Design Courses

 

 

Students learn the basics of drafting and AutoCAD in Engineering Graphics I.   Engineering Graphics II continues with the basics, with exercises in working drawings and Descriptive Geometry.   Technical Illustration teaches the concepts of mechanical illustrations, and introduces the student to 3D applications in AutoCAD.
 

 
Computer Aided Drafting teaches the student advanced techniques in creating working drawings.   In Architectural CAD students learn the basics of architectural design as they plan and design a residential structure.   In Computer Graphics Applications, students learn unique applications for AutoCAD using  LISP file applications.
   

   
    In CAD 3-D, students learn to create 3 dimensional solid models using parametric modeling software.
