If the amount of student aid exceeds the amount owed for tuition and fees, students will receive the residual amount in the form of a check or direct deposit.
Each term, the WSCC Cashier's Office will post a notice indicating the date distribution will begin.
A provision for books and supplies will be made available to the students who have met all financial aid eligibility requirements and have a credit balance on the student account at least 10 days prior to the start of the term.
The remaining balance of aid will be distributed to a student within 14 days of the date it was disbursed to the student account.
Initial attendance/engagement is required and must be confirmed prior to the remaining balance of aid being released.
Students whose aid is not completed during the initial distribution will have their balance of aid amount distributed to them in the next available transfer cycle.
You will not receive a paper award letter via mail. However, you may print your up-to-date-award information through MyWS
Select Financial Aid Award Package and Award Overview.
Federal Work-Study students are paid once a month, on the last working day of the month for hours accumulated in the previous pay period. Direct deposit is used whenever practical.

Note: Students are awarded financial assistance under the assumption that the student will complete the entire period for which assistance is awarded.
If students withdraw (official), cease attendance (unofficial withdrawal) or never attend courses for which they are scheduled to begin they may no longer be eligible for the amount of aid originally awarded or disbursed to their account.
This may result in a repayment of funds, including the advance for books and supplies, to the institution.
Refunds on all institutional charges will be calculated by the Cashier's Office in accordance with Walters State Institutional Refund Policy as stated in the WSCC Catalog/Student Handbook under "Cost" and applied directly to the student account.
