Information for Students, Faculty and Guests
Welcome to Walters State Greeneville/Greene County Center for
Higher Education. Important information about our downtown Center is listed below for your
convenience.
PARKING: Students and guests are asked to park in parking lot 2
(College Street), parking lot 4 (Dr. Chapmans lot on Main Street), and Ross
Appliance Parking lot. Guests would include special in-service classes, industry training
or anyone needing to park for a full day or more. Short term visitor parking is available
in parking lots 1 and 2. Faculty and staff are asked to park in parking lots 1 and 3.
Individuals who park in spaces other than those mentioned will be subject to fines and/or
towing. It is very important that you observe these guidelines.
TELEPHONES: A "courtesy" telephone is located on the
first floor next to the elevators. You may use this phone free of
charge for local calls. You must use a calling card to dial long
distance. Instructions are provided at the phone. Emergency
phones are located one each floor and in all classrooms.
VENDING: Vending machines are located on the first, second, and
fourth floors. Student lounges are located on first and second floor so no food or drink is allowed in the
classrooms. Vending is provided through the Blind Services and refunds for machine
malfunctions should be handled through them.
COPYING: A student copier is located on the first floor
in Room 109. Copies are ten cents ($0.10) each.
RESEARCH: Several computers for research purposes
are located in our media room (404) on the fourth floor. Student
computer labs 407 & 408 on the fourth floor are also open to
students when classes are not in session.
Walters State Community students have full access to academic
resources at the Thomas J. Garland library at Tusculum College,
http://library.tusculum.edu.

Tobacco Smoking
1. College buildings and indoor
facilities - Smoking is prohibited in all college buildings and
indoor facilities.
2. Grounds and open-air facilities
- Smoking is permitted on college grounds provided it occurs beyond 25
-50 feet of any building entrance as indicated by signage or in the
enclosed designated smoking shelters (which may be within 50 feet of a
building entrance). Smoking will not be permitted within the area of any
college building doorway entrance. Understood is the fact that proper
disposal of all waste products of smoking is required.
Other Tobacco Use
The use of mouth tobacco (to include dipping, chewing,
etc.) is prohibited in all buildings owned or controlled by Walters
State."
