No. 20 Senators Hunt Down No. 15 Bucks

MORRISTOWN, Tennessee — The highly-anticipated battle between No. 15 Motlow State and No. 20  Walters State failed to live up to its billing Saturday afternoon. The Senators had no problems disposing of the Bucks.

Freshman forward Laquantis Stewart pumped in 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field while Terrance Britt and Sirlester Martin each recorded a double-double as Walters State blasted Motlow State, 87-56, at 'Z' Buda Gymnasium.

With the win, the Senators pushed their season worksheet to 21-2 overall and 8-2 in the conference. The Bucks fell to 20-3 and 8-2.

Britt, a sophomore point guard, added 16 points and 10 assists in the victory for Walters State while Martin, a sophomore forward, netted 17 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard A.J. Thomas chipped in 12 points.

In the contest, the Senators blistered the nets at a 59.5 percent clip (34-of-57 overall, 11-of-19 on 3-poiinters). Walters State held a 43-30 rebounding margin, thanks to the Martin's big night on the boards.

For Motlow State, Tyree Evans led the way with 14 points while Cliff Dixon added 11.

The Senators return to action Wednesday night in Madisonville against TJCCAA Eastern Division rival Hiwassee. Scheduled start time is 8 p.m.
