Senators, Lady Senators Move Up In National Polls

MORRISTOWN, Tennessee — The Walters State men's basketball team, after impressive wins last week over Hiwassee and Chattanooga State, returned to the NJCCAA national rankings.

 

The Senators came in at No. 14 this week with a record of 24-1, which included a forfeit win over Chattanooga State from earlier in the season. Heading into Wednesday night' game with Roane State, Walters State has won 21 consecutive outings.

 

As a team, the Senators rank eighth in the nation in scoring at 92.1 points per contest while sophomore guard Terrance Britt is ninth in the nation in assists at 7.9 per game.

 

On the women's side, the Lady Senators (22-4) moved up one spot in this week's poll, going from No. 18 to No. 17 after quality wins over Hiwassee and Chattanooga State.

 

The Lady Senators remain ninth in the nation in points allowed, giving up an average of 52.1 points per contest.
