Lady Senators 13th In Final Regular-Season Poll
MORRISTOWN, Tennessee – The Walters State women's basketball team moved up one spot in the final regular-season NJCAA poll released this week.
The Lady Senators (26-4 overall, 14-2 in TJCCAA) advanced from 14th to 13th after wins last week over Hiwassee and Motlow State. The victory over Hiwassee clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Division for coach Dave Kragel's squad in the upcoming TJCCAA Region VII tournament, scheduled for March 3-9 at Walters State.
In national statistical news, the Lady Senators rank ninth in points allowed at 52.7 points per game while freshman guard Rhon'Neisha Taylor is 26th in 3-point percent, making 39-of-99 attempts for 39.3 percent.
The Lady Senators open play in the tournament Friday, March 7 at 6 p.m. against the winner of Motlow State and Jackson State.
