The Senators broke into the NJCAA top 25 poll at No. 19 this week, and backed it up with a 109-76 win over the Cougars of Wilkes Community College. The Senators improved to 11-1. The Cougars fell to 2-3.
Laquantis Stewart led the Senators with 22 points. He was 11-13 from the floor. Sirlester Martin poured in 21 points including a trey. Terrence Britt had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. Michael Jenkins added 14 and Chris Talley chipped in 10.
"This was a good game for us to get several players some floor time," said head coach Bill Carlyle. "Rande Sibley returned to the line-up tonight; we were happy to have him back." For the Cougars, Daniel Yarborough had 24 points with three 3-pointers. He also had eight rebounds. Brian Poole had 18 points and Lamar Ennis added 13.
The Senators will travel to Gallatin to play the Pioneers of Volunteer State Saturday, Dec 1. Their next home game is Wednesday, Dec 6 when they host the Fighting Scots JV team of Maryville College.
