Senators Win 23rd Straight Decision

CLEVELAND, Tennessee – The No. 14 Walters State men's basketball team clinched at least a tie for the TJCCAA Eastern Division crown Saturday with a 63-54 road win at Cleveland State.

 

The Senators (26-1 overall, 13-1 conference and winners of 23 straight) has three players in double figures. Sophomore Sirlester Martin had 12 points and 10 rebounds, freshman forward Michael Jenkins added 11 points while freshman guard A.J. Thomas netted 10 points.

 

Tray Okoth burned the nets for 26 points for the Cougars (12-13, 6-8) while Clarence Threat added 10.

 

The Senators return to action Wednesday in their final regular season home game against Hiwassee. Scheduled start time from 'Z' Buda Gymnasium is 8 p.m.
