Senators Win at Union College

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Bulldogs of Union College were prepared for the the Senators inside game, but couldn't control the guards. The Senators won 95-65 and improved to 13-1. The Bulldogs JV team fell to 6-6.

AJ Thomas buried five 3-pointers, and led all scorers with 19 points. He was 7-12 from the floor. Terrance Britt had nine points and nine assists and is still listed as No. 12 in the nation in assists.

"I thought we played well tonight," said head coach Bill Carlyle. "AJ shot the well, and I was very encouraged by Darrin Custis. He showed a lot of hustle"

Custis had six points and 12 rebounds and had 17 minutes of play.

"Our guys are always pumped when we play Union," said Carlyle. "It's a little bit of a hostile environment because of Jerry."

Former Walters State standout and All-American Jerry Nichols coached the Bulldogs. He is the assistant coach of the varsity program and head coach of the JV squad.

Bill Davis led the Bulldogs in scoring with 15 including a 3-pointer. Matt Anderson chipped in 13.

"We've played nine road games now," said Carlyle. "It's always good to get wins on the road. Now we get ready to play Maryville College.

The Senators will host the Fighting Scots at 7 p.m. in the "Z" Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium.
