John Rose Heading to Tel Aviv
Congratulations to John Rose, assistant professor of criminal justice. He is one of only 43 professors in the United States and Canada to be chosen to attend the Academic Fellows Program, a training session sponsored by the Foundation for the Defense of democracies. Rose will learn from diplomatic and military leaders from several countries and will have the opportunity to share counter-terrorism teaching techniques with other professors.

WSCC Professor Guest Edits "Appalachian Heritage"
"Appalachian Heritage," a literary magazine dedicated to the study of Appalachian artists, has a special guest editor for its spring issue: Viki Rouse, assistant professor of English at Walters State. The featured author in this issue is Mildred Haun and Rouse is considered one of the foremost experts on Haun, the Hamblen County native who penned "The Hawk's Done Gone." The magazine includes a never-before-published short story by Haun.

Free Jazz Clinic Offered
The Professional Entertainment Program will offer a free jazz band clinic this summer for high school and college musicians.
