Seminars and Workshops for Human Resources

Walters State Community College offers numerous courses for human resource managers, assistants and specialists.  As an official SHRM authorized training provider, we offer the PHR/SPHR review course as well as the popular HR Essentials course. 

PHR / SPHR Course

The SHRM LEARNING SYSTEM, which is designed primarily as a certification preparation course for the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) examinations.  It is a minimum of 35 contact hours in length.  People who take this course have typically worked in exempt-level human resource positions for at least two years.  Materials used will correspond to new test requirements for 2007.

Essentials of HR Course

Essentials of HR Certification Program: Whether you’re new to human resources or you simply want to strengthen your employee management skills this program is the place to start. This cost-effective, 4-week workshop will give you a broad overview of the human resource function. It covers real-life HR issues and critical topics including strategic planning, recruiting, compensation, benefits and employee relations. (14 hours)
