The Honors Program at Walters State provides students with opportunities to gain the highest level of academic challenge and quality leadership from dedicated faculty who share a commitment to excellence in teaching and service.

The program is designed for students who have an outstanding academic record, who are academically motivated and desire an intellectual challenge.

Students who are accepted into the Honors Program will take select honors courses.  These courses are a part of any major available at the college.   Students also participate in an honors seminar for three semesters.  The Tennessee Board of Regents has approved this program as a "bonafide honors program"; therefore, out-of-state students formally accepted into the honors program will be eligible for the waiving of out-of-state tuition.

Graduates of the honors program will qualify for an "honors diploma."
