Statement of Purpose: Walters State offers Associate of Arts degrees in music, music education, and theatre. These programs are university parallel programs, and the coursework is transferable to senior college and universities for students in pursuit of baccalaureate degrees. Students who are interested in theatre are offered a variety of performance opportunities throughout each academic year. The Walters State Stage Company provides the campus and community with outstanding productions which have recently included Tommy, Love's Labor's Lost, Tartuffe, Into the Woods, How I Learned to Drive, Waiting for Godot, Grease, and How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Man of La Mancha, The Lion in Winter, The Miracle Worker, Carousel, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Flowers for Algernon. Scholarships Scholarships are offered to deserving music and theatre students each year. These scholarships are available to both majors and non-majors. In addition to the traditional application and transcript requirements, students are required to audition for the music and/or theatre faculty.
