What To Do This Summer?

 Walters State is offering College for Kid’s Camp for children entering 5th thru 8th grades. College for Kids classes are held on the college campus, and emphasize self-discovery, a hands-on approach to learning, and, give opportunities to develop new interests, abilities, and friendships.

College for Kids is an academic enrichment program for young students who have high academic potential, an interest in subject matter and motivation or talent. Classes are taught by Walters State faculty or highly qualified and experienced instructors. All programs are held on the main campus in Morristown, TN. Our curriculum is designed to provide your children with an academic edge.

Sevierville - Summer Camps for Kids

 This summer, join the Sevier County Campus of Walters Sate Community College for five exciting and educational camps for kids.  After all, summer is for fun and learning!  All our camps include a healthy lunch each day and a T-shirt!

 Hogwarts Satellite School   June 16, 17, 18, & 19 9am-3pm

If you’ve ever wanted to attend Hogwarts Academy, now is your chance!  This 4-day educational camp is designed to give kids a real Hogwarts experience.  This isn’t just a fan-club and Harry Potter ® trivia camp; students will learn about history, “magic,” herbs, potions, dreams, biology, and  astrology—all led by a headmistress with a background in theology, herbology, and home schooling and a passion for the educational value of Harry Potter ®.  If you love the book series, you’ll love Walters State’s Hogwarts Satellite School!  Lunch and T-shirt included in fee. 

Ages 8-14.  $159 per student.

This event is not endorsed. , sanctioned, or in any other way supported , directly or indirectly, by Warner Bros. Entertainment, the Harry Potter book publishers, or J.K. Rowling and her representatives.

CSI Summer Camp   June 24, 25, 26 & 27   9am-3pm

Students will study the disciplines of math, physics, health and earth science, all while appreciating the exciting world of forensic biology.  Through various projects, students develop an enhanced understanding of how forensic science helps crime scene investigators solve criminal mysteries.  Students have the chance to put their new-found knowledge to the test by solving a “real” crime.  Lunch and T-shirt included in fee.  Ages 9-14.  $159 per student.

Rescue Kids    July 15, 16, 17, & 18   9am-3pm

Kids are invited to attend this 4-day camp designed to give them an introduction to life-saving skills.  Two days will be devoted to CPR and first aid, including hands-on scenarios and real life-saving tips if kids are ever faced with an emergency situation.  Subsequent two days will include interactive presentations with representatives from local law enforcement, fire, and other emergency response agencies.  Lunch and T-shirt included in fee.  Ages 9-13. $159 per student

 

 Cheerleading Camp  July 28, 29, 30, & 31

A dedicated and enthusiastic team of local high school and college cheerleaders will guide a young cheer squad in this fun and exciting introduction to cheerleading.  Students will learn cheers and drills all while the camp inspires self confidence and team spirit!

Lunch and T-shirt included in fee.

K-3rd grade: 9-noon, $89

4th-5th grade: 9am-3pm, $159

Kids’ Art Camp   July 21, 22, 23, 24

Learn painting, drawing, photography, performance and crafts in this camp devoted to the arts.  Students may participate for the whole week, or choose among the four specialized days.  Release your creativity; be artistic!

Lunch and T-shirt included in fee.  Ages 8-13.  $159.
