Vision Statement:
The Technical Education division will be the regionally recognized leader for excellence in education for the technologies.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Technical Education Division is to:

Provide quality technology programs which will produce highly competent technicians for area business and industry.
Provide a quality foundation in the technologies to enable students to pursue further educational opportunities.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Walters State Community College, the Walters State Center for Workforce Development and the Smoky Mountains Area WIA Board are receiving a substantial investment from the federal government to create and save jobs, and aid individuals affected by the recession. This investment is providing services through the Tennessee Career Centers and related Youth Services.
