Walters State offers two-year associate degrees that prepare students to transfer to four-year colleges or universities. We also offer associate of applied science degrees and technical certificates that prepare students to succeed in in-demand jobs.

  • Associate of Arts - A two-year degree with an emphasis on courses such as English, Fine Arts, Foreign Languages, History, Philosophy, etc. This degree type is designed to make graduates transfer ready to continue their education at a four-year university.
  • Associate of Science - A two-year degree with an emphasis on courses such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This degree type is designed to make graduates transfer ready to continue their education at a four-year university.
  • Associate of Science in Teaching - A two-year degree with an emphasis on teaching special education or pre-K-3 or K-5 education. This degree type is designed to make graduates transfer ready to continue their education at a four-year university.
  • Associate of Applied Science - AA two-year degree designed to give students job-ready technical skills and career preparation. This degree type is designed to make graduates career ready and go directly into the workforce.
  • Certificates - A credential designed to provide students specific skills in a field within the workplace. Certificates are typically shorter in length than degree programs, and are designed to make graduates career ready and go directly into the workforce.
