Walters State has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse in order to provide a fast, secure, and easy way to send you transcripts to other schools, agencies, or yourself!

Electronic Transcripts

Electronic transcripts are sent either by PDF or ETX (Electronic Transcript Exchange). You will be able to print, save, or forward your transcript. The download link for the transcripts are only available to you OR the recipient for 30 days from the date it is processed before it expires.

Request Electronic Transcript

If you have a hold on your student record, the college will not process your transcript request until it has been resolved. Contact information will be provided to you to resolve the hold.

Shortly after your request is processed by WS, your transcript recipient will be emailed a link to a secure internet page where he or she can retrieve your official transcript. Upon that email notification, your credit/debit card will be charged if applicable. The National Student Clearinghouse will guarantee that your recipient is notified that your transcript is ready for retrieval at the email address you provided when you placed the order. However, we cannot monitor when the recipient retrieves or accepts the transcript.

Electronic transcripts are not available to students who attended Walters State before 1990. If you attended before this date, please email us at for information on how to request a transcript.

The fee to send on electronic transcript is $3.50. It is $1.00 for each additional electronic transcript beyond the first request of that order.

The fee is waived for all electronic transcripts (PDF and ETX) being sent to a public TN higher education institution. If you are sending you electronic transcript to a TN public college or university, you must choose "YES" for the option that asks if you are currently enrolled at Walters State in order for the fee to be waived.

When to Send Options

  • Send Current Transcript – Transcripts will include all grades/courses as of the day the request is processed.
  • After Grades Are Posted – Transcripts will be processed after the end of the current term. This is generally 3-4 days after the last day of the term.
  • After Degree Is Awarded – Transcripts will be processed after degrees are posted for the term. This is generally 3-4 weeks. (This option is for students graduating in the current term).

If you require additional forms to be sent with your transcript (e.g. AMCAS, CAS, etc.), click on the "Upload Documents" box within the "Attach Additional Documents" section and add the form(s) to your transcript order.

Unofficial vs. Official Transcripts

Unofficial Transcripts

If you are currently attending or attended Walters State within the last year, your unofficial transcripts can be printed/viewed in MyWS. You will need your username and password to access your account. If you do not remember your password, click the "Forgot Password" link and answer your security questions to reset your password.

Official Transcripts

If you are transferring to another school, most college/universities require an official transcript be sent. Unofficial transcripts are for personal information and some potential employers may accept.
