Debate Team Wins Sweepstakes Award at Northeast State Tournament

The Walters State Debate Team finished the season with a sweepstakes win at Buccaneer
Bears Invitation Tournament, held at Northeast State Community College. From left

Debate Team Ends Season With Win
The Walters State Debate Team finished the season with some of its top performances
given at the Buccaneer Bears Invitational Tournament at Northeast State Community
College.
The college won the Sweepstakes Award, given to the team who accumulates the most
points in various debate activities.
“We are excited to finish our semester with a big win,” said Belle Elliott, debate
coach and instructor of speech communications.
The team of Cayden Keltgen and Christopher Cox finished second overall, with the team
of Lorna Baxley and Hunter Dolan taking third.
Individual honors went to Lorna Baxley, fourth place, and Cayden Keltgen, fifth place.
