Workforce Training Offers June Classes

Parenting and Divorce, MIG Welding, Excel Level 1 Offered in June

Walters State Community College’s Division of Workforce Training will offer Parenting and Divorce, Microsoft Excel Level 1, and MIG Welding in June. For more information or to register, contact Kellie Hendrix at Kellie.Hendrix@ws.edu  or 423-798-7988.

• Parenting and Divorce, June 4 or June 18, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $60. 
This is the state-mandated course for divorcing parents. It is offered through the Zoom videoconferencing software. Parents will improve their communication skills, which will make the transition less traumatic for everyone, especially children. 

• Microsoft Excel, Level 1, June 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., $150.
This class teaches the basics of this popular spreadsheet software. Students will learn how to creative, save, edit and print documents, learn formatting tips, create formulas, enter functions and work with page layout features. This is offered at the Walters State Niswonger Campus, the Morristown Campus and the Newport Center.

• MIG Welding, June 18-July 16, Tuesdays, 4-8 p.m., $379.
This course teaches the principles and practices associated with the Gas Metal Arc Welding Process (MIG Welding). This process is easy-to-learn and highly productive, used often in manufacturing facilities. The self-paced class offers a hands-on approach covering industry standards, equipment setup and a selection of joints and weld positions. Students develop basic skills and an understanding of process variables. This class is taught at the Walters State Workforce Training Building in Greeneville
